About Tree of peace-望み-

Tree of peace ✖️ Toiro Graphics ✖️

Tree of Peace ✖️ Toiro Graphics ✖️ nanayosha“Hope”—A Dove-Shaped Accessory That Carries Hope

We were specially granted leaves from the atomic-bombed tree at Misasho Shrine in Hiroshima, which we burned to ash.
These small dove accessories were created using glaze blended from that ash.
In place of the atomic-bombed tree, which is rooted in that spot and cannot move,
these doves flap their wings freely, carrying hopes for peace.
We handcraft each piece with this sentiment in mind.
Because they are handcrafted, the soft-shaped doves each have slightly different expressions and forms.
Their individuality is part of the unique charm of these accessories.
A small “wish for peace” that nestles gently against your ear.
We hope that, together with the person wearing them, these wishes will take flight to many different places.

A-bombed camphor tree at Misasa Shrine

Misasa Shrine, located in Misasa-town, Nishi Ward, Hiroshima City, has long been revered as the head shrine deity.

On August 6, 1945, an atomic bomb blew out the walls of the shrine and burned down all the buildings and 300-year-old trees.

After the war, the building was gradually rebuilt.

In the fall of 1945, we planted camphor tree seeds, raised seedlings, and devoted ourselves to the restoration of the shrine and its trees.

In 1955, Mr. Shozo Nakata, a resident of the town, gave us a camphor tree that survived the atomic bombing. Today, the shrine's woods have been restored to the point where the devastation of the atomic bombing is hardly felt, and the A-bombed camphor tree is carefully protected as a sacred tree in the shrine.
